Jane Kelsey-Mapel of Phoenix, AZ and Becky Frehse of Tacoma, WA collaborate to form what they call "ReConfigured Art".
Their mixed media assemblages range from amusingly playful to beautifully bizarre. Jane and Becky have been friends since their art school days together at Arizona State University. In 2011, they began collaborating by combining their own art forms as painter (Becky) and sculptor (Jane) to create original, experimental work that questions the conventional expectations of traditional fine art and craft materials. Their mixed media sculptures incorporate reclaimed or repurposed materials as a metaphor for repurposing and reinventing oneself.
